- Background and Experience
Background Experience
Harry has been involved in the construction industry for over 25 years in both a hands on and management role. The last fifteen years have been spent almost exclusively in the refurbishment and fitout sector of the commercial and retail markets. In 1999, Harry decided to establish his own company, utilising the wealth of experience and knowledge gained from his thirteen years at Lend Lease.
Harry completed his tertiary education whilst working as a foreman on various construction and refurbishment projects with lend lease. After completing his degree he progressed through site management roles where he was directly responsible for the successful delivery of projects in terms of time, cost and quality.
From this direct site involvement he moved to a Project Management role where his responsibilities encompassed the total project from the conception/design phase through to detailed design, negotiations and approvals to the eventual delivery and handover of the project.
During Harry’s final years at lend Lease, he was appointed Construction Manager for the Interiors division (refurbishment and fitout). He was directly responsible for the successful delivery of over thirty projects in the commercial and retail sectors with a total value of $300 million. His role as Construction Manager included the selection, appointment and allocation of key personnel and resources to form appropriately skilled project teams for the delivery phase of projects. He was responsible for negotiating with various construction unions, and reviewing the progress of projects, particularly in terms of time and cost, as well as quality, environmental health and safety requirements. aim
In his role as Managing Director of Maintek projects, Harry has instilled the disciplines, procedures and policies that made lend lease so successful, as core principles of the company. Harry has remained personally committed to the successful delivery of the company's projects in a manner exceeding our Clients expectations.
